This is my family's absolute favorite snack. I usually make a big batch at Christmas, but I didn't get around to it this past year. I decided to make them happy today, on Superbowl Sunday and make a bowl! It couldn't be easier, and it is really tasty. There is no baking involved, like in some other cereal mixes. Instead you use oil, which absorbs into the crackers while you stir every so often. Here is the recipe:
1 box Crispix cereal
1 box cheeze-its
1 pkg. oyster crackers
1 pkg. pretzel sticks
1 jar honey roasted nuts
Stir these together in a large bowl. (very large)
In a separate bowl, whisk together:
2 cups canola oil (or vegetable)
2 pkgs. dry Ranch dressing mix
2-3 T. dill
2-3 T. garlic powder
Pour this mixture over the Crispix mix. Stir well, coating all pieces. Let soak a while, stirring occasionally. The longer you let it soak the better it tastes later.
